So what if you can’t touch your toes?
What if your mornings don’t start with sun salutations—
But with dosa flips, school runs, and sibling squabbles?
Yoga isn’t just about twisting into shapes.
It’s not only on a mat or inside a studio.
It’s in how you meet your life.
The joy, the overwhelm, the mess — all of it is yoga.
I remember Shweta —
A mother of two who once told me:
“I don’t need another thing to do. I just need a minute to be.”
Fair.
And life gave her that minute.
One day, mid-migraine and mid-meltdown, she sank to the kitchen floor.
No mat. No mantra.
Just her breath.
Inhale. Exhale. No one else to show up for — but herself.
That’s when yoga began for her.
Not on Instagram.
Not during a perfect practice.
But in the act of returning to herself.
This is yoga —
🌿 Sitting in silence when the house is loud.
🌿 Breathing deeply while waiting in traffic.
🌿 Washing dishes with awareness, not resentment.
🌿 Being present in the chaos, not despite it.
🌿 Saying “I need a minute” — and actually taking it.
Because yoga isn’t the pause outside the mess.
It’s the breath inside it.
It’s the awareness that shows up in the thick of things — not when life quiets down, but while it’s roaring.
So this International Yoga Day—
Whether you’re flowing or folding laundry,
In a class or in your kitchen…
✨ Choose presence.
✨ Choose compassion.
✨ Choose to meet yourself where you are.
Because that, too, is yoga.
Happy Yoga Day 🧘🏽♀
From one beautifully imperfect soul to another.
